손여울은 한국에서 동양화를 전공하고 Goldsmiths에서 컴퓨테이셔널 아트를 수학했으며, 2010년 중앙미술대전 입상을 계기로 다양한 국제 레지던시와 전시에 참여하며 인류세, 과학기술, 환경문제 등을 주제로 활동해왔다. 자연에서의 경험들이 작품에 영향을 미쳤으며, 현상을 데이터로 변환하는 과정의 불완전성과 다양성을 탐구하며 센서와 데이터 마이닝을 활용한 데이터 아트와 시각화 등을 통해 데이터의 사회적, 문화적, 예술적 측면을 실험하고 조명하고 있다.

Yeoul Son majored in Oriental painting in Korea and pursued Computational Art at Goldsmiths. Since winning the Grand Prize at the Central Art Competition in 2010, she has participated in various international residencies and exhibitions, focusing on themes such as the Anthropocene, science and technology, and environmental issues. Her experiences in nature have deeply influenced her work, as she explores the imperfections and diversity in the process of converting phenomena into data. By employing sensors and data mining, she experiments with and illuminates the social, cultural, and artistic aspects of data through data art and visualization.

<Weather Woven Living>는 전시 공간 근처 외부에 위치한 개인 날씨 관측소를 통해 날씨 및 환경 데이터를 수집하며, 이 데이터를 토대로 색과 형태가 환경적 요소에 반응하는 Data Generative moving images 및 빛과 함께 조명 • 스크린 • 가구의 복합적 형태의 인터렉티브 설치 작품이다. 개인 날씨 관측소를 통한 커스터마이징, 환경, 예술 등을 통합하여 공간 안팎의 환경, 그리고 변화하는 기상 조건 사이에서 독특한 상호 작용을 창출하며 우리가 공간을 경험하는 방식을 새롭게 정의하고자 한다. <Weather Woven Living>은 기술과 자연, 예술이 조화를 이룬 미래 주거 예술을 제시하며, 관객에게 독특하고 참신한 경험을 선사한다.

<Weather Woven Living> collects weather and environmental data through a personal weather station located near the exhibition space. This data drives the creation of data-generative moving images, where colors and forms respond to environmental elements, resulting in an interactive installation that integrates lighting, screens, and furniture. By customizing and merging weather observation, environment, and art, this installation fosters unique interactions between the indoor and outdoor environments and the changing weather conditions, redefining how we experience space. <Weather Woven Living> presents a vision of future living spaces where technology, nature, and art converge, offering viewers a distinctive and innovative experience.
