김보슬은 동양적 관점에서 인간과 자연의 유기적 연결성을 주제로 예술과 기술의 접점에서 활동하는 미디어아티스트이다. XR, AI, 메타버스, 텔레프레젠스 등 동시대 기술을 탐구하며 인간 고유의 근원에 대해 성찰하고 우리의 지각과 감각이 증폭되도록 예술 창작 활동을 이어가고 있다.​​ 뉴욕 타임스퀘어, 파리 한국문화원, 예술의 전당, DDP 등 국내외 기관에서 작품을 선보였으며 서울예술대학교 디지털아트 교수로 재직하고 있다.

Bo Sul Kim is a media/ digital artist experimenting at the intersection of art and technology. Based in Seoul, her work is inspired by the idea of organic connectivity between humans and nature, rooting from eastern philosophies and imaginations.

<Spirit in Nature>는 모든 생명에 영혼이 깃들어 있다는 동양의 관점에서 출발해 장충의 역사적 공간적 의미를 재해석한다. 기후 변화로 물이 범람하여 재창조된 가상의 시공간에서 자연만물의 역사, 기록, 기억을 담은 생명저장고가 발견되어 열리며, 인간과 비인간, 동양과 서양의 역사가 혼재된 혼성 생명체들이 깨어나며 잊혀진 영혼을 소생한다. 이 작품은 모션캡처, 인공지능, 엔진기반 3D 애니메이션 등 기술 매체를 결합한 미디어파사드로, 건축물과 신체의 움직임, 수평과 수직, 정적인 것과 동적인 요소들이 충돌하며 초자연의 기도와 염원을 담아 장충에 새로운 장소성을 부여한다. 미래의 자연이 들려주는 소리에 귀기울이며 생명의 근원에 대해 사색하는 경험을 선사하고자 한다.

<Spirit in Nature> embarks on a journey delving into the Eastern idea of life's inherent soul, sparking a reimagining of Jangchung's historical and spatial meaning. In a future world submerged by water from the climate change, a sanctuary of memories, and spirit of nature emerges. Utilizing motion capture, artificial intelligence, and engine-based 3D animation, this piece transforms into a captivating media facade, where architectural and bodily movements intersect amidst horizontal and vertical dimensions. Its ultimate goal is to immerse the audience in a meditative experience, inviting reflection on the origins of life through the whispers of future nature's echoes.
